Nozzle Rocket Printhead Cleaner

Nozzle Rocket Printhead Cleaner

Nozzle Rocket Printhead Cleaner.

Nozzle Rocket is used to clear the nozzles of intergrated printheads of those difficult cartridges that may have sat around too long and need a little boost for optimum print results.

In some cases – especially if very old cartridges or Pigment Ink cartridges are concerned – you may have realised that even after using Rinse Solution the print results are not 100% satisfying. For these cartridges OCP has designed another, more effective liquid which is called “Nozzle Rocket”.

Based on the successful Rinse Solution (yellow), the OCP R&D department has added special substances, for example a low concentrated aqueous ammonia solution. As ammonia in general is a very aggressive substance, there should be considered the following remarks when using OCP´s “Nozzle Rocket” (even if the concentration of ammonia is comparatively low in this liquid):

1. The main purpose of “Nozzle Rocket” is de-clogging of ink nozzles in integrated print heads which work with the bubble-jet principle.

2. In order to avoid damage of Ink-Jet cartridges, “Nozzle Rocket” should by applied to the nozzle plates / printheads of ink cartridges from outside. This can by easily done by dripping a few drops of “Nozzle Rocket” on the nozzle plate when the ink cartridge is placed upside down. It is not necessary to use some millilitres of “Nozzle Rocket” as it practiced when cleaning with OCP´s “Rinse Solution”. Only 2-3 drops should be enough to dissolve ink residuals
inside the nozzles.

3. After dripping “Nozzle Rocket” on the nozzle plate, the liquid will automatically disappear into the nozzles. By placing the cartridge now inside a test printer and start printing, the additional heat of the thermal printing process will help to de-clog the nozzles also.

4. In case of hard residuals it is also possible to fill “Nozzle Rocket” into the cartridge (this is only possible in tank cartridges or in foam-type cartridges after removing the foam inside). “Nozzle Rocket” should only last a couple of minutes inside the cartridge to avoid any interaction of the liquid with the cartridge parts. Ater emptying the cartridge it should be flushed with OCP´s “Rinse Solution” or purified water again to avoid side effects due to smallest amounts of “Nozzle Rocket” which could be left at any part of the cartridge. “Nozzle Rocket” should be never in contact with cartridge foams as it can modify the foam characteristics irrevocable.

5. There is no need to increase the temperature of “Nozzle Rocket” during the process. Additional heat will not increase the effectiveness of “Nozzle Rocket”, but could cause a more aggressive reaction of the liquid to the cartridge materials. Therefore it should be used at room temperature.
