Postage Details

At BMS we despatch goods worldwide although the majority of our orders are from UK based customers. Our online shopping cart will calculate the cost of deliveries within Europe and beyond but if you are looking at a large, heavy weight order then we may be able to offer a road or sea haulage delivery service. Please contact us directly for this service. Below we describe the postage services for UK based customers in some detail.

In summary:
We can send small, low value, light weight goods by 1st Class Post from £2.15 to £3.25 +vat. Delivery is normally within 1-3 working days but this does not have any tracking or insurance. Please allow up to 14 days for delivery,
Heavier items will be sent by Parcelforce Courier and prices start at £6.50 +vat for a single package on a 2-3 day service or £9.00 + vat for a 1-2 day service.The 1-2 day service cost can be used for sending up to 2 pacakges from us at no extra cost. Prices on the 1-2 day service then rise by £3.65 +vat for every extra package that we despatch (a package can weigh up to 30kg so we can despatch 2 cases of mugs for instance in 1 package).We aim to desaptch all goods the same day the order is received (cut off time 15:30) but this is not guaranteed. The 1-2 day service is sent on Parcelforce 24 hour and should, under normal circumstances be received the next working day although we allow 2 days. The 2-3 day service is sent on Parcelforce 48 and should, under normal circumstances be received within 2 working days although we allow for 3 days.

Please note that due to the closure of our local Post Office, we can no longer send goods by Recorded Delivery or Special Delivery. We still offer a "Royal Mail: Tracked 1-2 day" service and goods will be sent by Special Delivery however goods sent this way will normally be posted the day following the date of the order as we no longer have access to a Post Office within a close distance of our offices.

In more detail: Our shopping cart calculates the approximate weight of your order and depending on how heavy the total shopping basket is you are given a number of postal options. For light weight and low value goods you will have the option of having your order sent by Royal Mail First Class Service (normally 1 - 3 working days). The option will only be available for goods up to a certain weight and value as this service is not insured or guaranteed. We cannot offer any compensation for goods lost in the post and unfortunately if the goods do not arrive with you, and we can demonstrate they have been posted from us, we cannot resend free of charge. Please only select a postal service under these circumstances.

For larger and heavier orders the goods are despatched by Parcelforce on a courier service. A signature will be required when the goods are delivered and this is normally the next working day from despatch.

If you prefer to have your goods delivered on a pallet then this can also be arranged. Please contact us for current pallet rates.

The total courier cost that you will incur will depend on the weight and number of packages that we send. We aim to pack the goods to minimise the number of parcels being sent as the costs are subject to a minimum value and then a cost per package once that minimum has been reached.

Some parts of the UK incur a surcharge because of the distance to delivery. The current surcharge areas are shown in green on the image and typically include the Isle of Mann, Isles of Scilly, Scottich Highlands and Islands and Northern Ireland. The surcharge affects the following postcodes: IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE, BT, IM, TR21-25. Our shopping cart will automatically work out the delivery price based on your postcode or region in the World.

We will always try to process your order the same day and the vast majority of our orders do go the same day that they are received subject to stock availability. If you require your order urgently and a same day despatch is essential to you then please tick the "priority despatch" box at the shopping cart and a surcharge of £4.95 +vat will be added. If we are unable to despatch the same day you will be notified by email and the additional charge will not apply.

We can offer a pre-noon and a Saturday morning delivery service but these are much more expensive. These options, and all the above as applicable, are shown at the checkout should you require them.
