If you want to print onto candles, piggy banks, centres or sides of plates and any other non-flat surface (can be used on flat surfaces as well) then this Decal Paper is excellent.
You print as normal onto the decal paper, cut around the image with the shape you need (by hand or with the Craft ROBO and lay the decal paper in water for about 20 seconds. After this, peal the paper and position the image onto the item then allow to dry. This is obliviously not dishwasher safe but the opportunities are endless - from egg cups to glass tankers, plates, candles etc. All you have to do is wander around your local supermarket to find lots of possibilities. The transfers when cured at 180 degrees C become very durable and dishwasher safe at low temperature settings.
A comment from one of our customer suggests it is "a good idea to leave them for about 6 hours before doing anything further with them. When using them on glassware or ceramics it is also a good idea to fire them. This can be done in a conventional oven at around 180-200 degrees C for about 15 minutes. It hardens the material making the item just that bit more resilient to everyday usage."
You could even spray the finished product with a clear lacquer to give a smooth edge to the water decal paper.
Following testing this works very well. The image is clear and crisp and within seconds the top clear layer can be pealed from the backing sheet. This is then laid on to the product and with the use of a squeegee or sponge you can remove any air pockets. Left to dry this is an excellent means of printing onto different shaped objects. You will feel the edge of the picture on the product as this is effectively stuck on top but the lacquer tip above will sort that out.
