Printing onto light coloured cotton or cotton/ polyester garments.
Printing onto cotton garments is not possible with sublimation printing and given the cost of colour laser printers today this is now a viable option for many customers. With the light textile laser paper you can achieve excellent results with a one stage print and press process.
Having tested this process it is very good. The image is printed in reverse onto the paper using a thick paper setting on the printer. The laser print prints an excellent quality image which can be cut by hand or with a cutter. The "white" area of the paper does not press onto the garmet noticably so the image cut does not need to be too precise and we could not feel this when pressed and washed.
We found best results were to press at about 170-180 degrees Celsuis for 25 - 30 seconds and peel when warm. The whole image comes off the laser paper leaving it infused into the garment. There is no colour change in the image transfer so what you see on the paper is what you get on the garment. The end result is fully washable in accordance with the normal washing cycle of the garment.
TTC papers are tested to work in laser printers however not all laser printers are the same. Currently one of the better laser printers on the market for using this TTC paper is the Oki C5750 and this is available with modified parts to work with the Magic Touch papers. The modifications do not invalidate your Oki warranty.
